MARRIAGE LICENSE
● Couples are required to obtain a Marriage License from any Florida Courthouse. It is not the responsibility of Mermaid
Beach Weddings to obtain a Marriage License(fee is typically $93.50) Packages do not include the Marriage License.
● Marriage License must be brought to the ceremony in order for Mermaid Beach Wedding to be able to Execute the Marriage License.
● Filing of the Executed Marriage license is included in our packages. The Executed Marriage license will be placed in US
Mail to be delivered to the corresponding County Courthouse.
● Mermaid Beach Wedding is NOT responsible for any lost mail due to the US Postal service.
DEPOSITS
● A Non-Refundable Deposit is required to Book your Ceremony. Deposit Range depends on your package
from $250 to $500.
● Any “changes” in dates must be made 30 days prior to the wedding date.
● We accept Cash, Check, Credit Cards, Zelle(mermaidbeachweddings@gmail or 786.366.7771) and Paypal.
We charge a 3.5% fee for all Credit Card and Paypal Transactions.
● Mermaid Beach Weddings banks with Chase Bank. You make your deposit directly to Chase bank, please
add your name and date of wedding to the deposit slip for accounting purposes. Account Number: 591735811
● Final Balance of the Ceremony is due 30 days prior to the Ceremony or you will be in default.
● Permits are required for some Beaches and Parks. Packages do not include “beach fees”, “park fees”,
and/or “permit fees”. Mermaid Beach Weddings can file the paperwork for an additional fee.
● Couples must obtain permission from Hotel, Condo, or Resort Management and furnish Mermaid Beach
Weddings a contact name and number for us to communicate with.
● Most State Parks close at dusk. After Hour Ranger fees will apply. Couple is responsible for any “after hour
fees".
RESCHEDULE/ POSTPONEMENTS / CANCELLATIONS
● If you need to reschedule your wedding, we will gladly work with you to do so but we require at least 30 days
notice and additional fees may apply. Deposits may be applied to Postponements
● Complete Forfeiture of the Deposit/ Retainer if the event is canceled
● If balance was paid in full at the time of booking, the amount of the deposit will NOT be refunded ALONG
WITH ANY OTHER COSTS INCURRED
● If you cancel less than 30 days from the scheduled wedding, any monies collected are forfeited
● If monies are being refunded to a credit card, a 3.5% service fee will be subtracted.
● Packages can be changed between categories only.
● Wedding Insurance is available through WWW.WEDSAFE.COM
GENERAL INFORMATION
● Please be aware that all locations are public venues. Mermaid Beach Weddings is not responsible for any
accident or injury that might occur to anyone in and/or attending our Ceremonies. We are also not
responsible for the health or health conditions of anyone in
and/or attending our weddings. We are not responsible for any lost items or articles of clothing. Signers of
this contract assume responsibility for themselves, attendants, and guests.
● It is the responsibility of the Client to secure a backup location should any public event, weather, or any
other unforeseen act prevent the “beach” wedding. Mermaid Beach Weddings is not responsible for finding
an alternate location.
● Be aware, it can be very hot on the beach and in Florida. Please drink plenty of fluid in order to stay
hydrated. Mermaid Beach Weddings are not responsible for any medical condition that might be brought
about by the heat.
● You may visit the location/ venue chosen via google maps. We will give you a landmark as to where the spot
will be. However, due to the unknown number of people on the beach that day the exact spot may not be the
same. We do not meet couples on the beach prior to the special day.
● If you wish to have a staff member show you the area prior to the special day the charge is $150.00 for per
hour. You are always welcome to visit our warehouse in Oakland Park, Florida free of charge.
● Mermaid Beach Weddings are not responsible for Third Party vendors nor items that are brought to the
beach for the ceremony. Mermaid Beach Weddings is not responsible for the clean-up of Third Party
vendor’s items brought to the ceremonies but please note that nothing is allowed to be left behind.
● Mermaid Beach Weddings is not responsible for mechanical malfunctions, including but
not limited to: cameras, video recorders, boom boxes, etc. Although we strive for perfection, situations
sometimes occur.
● Clients also agree not to disclose any verses and/or designs to any Third Party.
● If you bring your own officiate they are responsible for the ceremony and ceremony supplies
● We do not release our ceremony to any Third Party
● You're welcome to bring your own Photographer and will receive a discount or a credit. Please notify us in
advance.
TIME SLOT / TARDINESS / LATE FEES
● Weddings are scheduled for One (1) hour with 30 minutes prior for guest arrival.
Photographers/Officiants are Contractors and hired for One (1) Hour of Time.
● If the start of your wedding is delayed due to Your Tardiness and/or your Family Members/Bridal Party
Tardiness, etc., the first 15 minutes are waived. Tardiness is billed in 15 MINUTE increments at a rate of $50
per 15 minutes. Please note that you will be billed for Tardiness once you are 16 minutes late as Mermaid
Beach Weddings.
● Photographers/Officiants/ Live Musicians also have to be compensated for your Tardiness (Photographers
fee is $180.00 per 30 minutes delay, Officiant $50.00 per every 30 minutes delayed. Live Musicians 1/2 of
their hour fee.
● Neither can be forced to stay as they may have other engagements.
● If you bring your own Officiant/Pastor/Minister etc., Ceremonies should be no more than 20 minutes. The
remaining time will be dedicated to pictures. If you go over the hour, you will be billed $50 for every 15
minutes.
● A Credit card with your authorization will be kept on file, if needed for the above additional fee.
● If you are Tardy or your Ceremony ran long, you will be notified via email the next business day and the fee
will be billed from your credit card on file.
● You must be paid in full prior to receiving your photos. NEED TO KNOW
● There will be no one on the beach to Coordinate the Procession of a large Bridal Party(Including but not
limited to: Bridesmaids, Groomsmen, Flower Girl, Ring Bearer) down the aisle. Mermaid Beach Weddings
do offer Wedding Coordinators for an additional fee, (suggested strongly for large bridal parties of more than
4 bridesmaids etc) You're welcome to assign a family member or friend as wedding coordinator.
● We do not do rehearsals, you're welcome to do so on your own.
● Wedding Packages DO NOT INCLUDE a Wedding Coordinator. .
● Mermaid Beach Wedding is not responsible for any personal belongings left unattended on the beach during the Ceremony.
● Due to Environmental Concerns and Local Ordinances, ONLY fresh/live flower petals are allowed on the beach. Fake petals can blow away and cause damage to sea life, etc.
● Please note that even though beach and park weddings are outdoors, all attendees must respect the
environment. No trash or debris is to be left behind including water bottles, cigarette butts, etc.
DIGITAL IMAGES
● You will receive all eligible pictures taken of your special day in Standard Resolution available for download
with copyrights.
● You will also receive an Online Gallery with the same pictures in High Resolution available for purchase.
● If you are Late for a Sunset Ceremony, your pictures may be compromised due to the lighting
● All photos may be used on our website or for promotional materials. If you do not wish for us to use your
photos, you must notify us in writing via email.
● Mermaid Beach Weddings strive for high quality photos, certain elements such as weather, natural lighting
may not always make it possible.
● We use experienced “freelance” contracted photographers that have been trained by Mermaid Beach
Weddings.
● As with professional photographers, we do not guarantee that you will receive every picture that we take. If
there are specific poses you want, please let us know in advance of your wedding. Knowing ahead of time
what photos are important to you, will help make sure that you receive what you want.Turnaround time for
images 3 weeks, Video 6 weeks
● We are NOT in the business of Professional Photography nor do we claim to be, our Photographers are
professionals in their fields and are Hired Contractors.
● Mermaid Beach Weddings reserves the right to hold all wedding photographs until final payment is made.
FLORIDA IS KNOWN FOR TROPICAL WEATHER PRIMARILY IN THE MONTHS OF
JUNE- NOVEMBER..
SHOULD LIGHTING STRIKE 6 MILES OR LESS TO THE BEACH LOCATION, ALL GUEST,
BRIDAL COUPLE, AND MERMAID STAFF WILL BE EVACUATED FROM THE BEACH IMMEDIATELY
TILL IT IS SAFE TO RETURN.
THESE MEASURES ARE TAKEN FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL. KEEP IN MIND, THE MERMAID
TEAM USUALLY HEADS TO THE BEACH 2-3 HOURS PRIOR TO THE CEREMONY. THE SAME DELAY
MAY OCCUR SHOULD THE TEAM ENCOUNTER LIGHTING AS THEY ARE SETTING UP.
FORT LAUDERDALE BEACH/PARK CEREMONIES ONLY From March 1 to October 31 is SEA TURTLE MATING
SEASON . The City of Fort Lauderdale fines anyone disturbing the sea turtle mating process or the nesting area of the
turtles that are tapped off. It is the responsibility of the BRIDE/GROOM to make their PARTY aware and responsible for
any fines given as a result of any incident. Mermaid Beach Weddings is not responsible for any disturbances done to
theSea Turtles due to the Bride/Groom and/or their Party.
